Job Summary
The Data and Reporting Analyst will work on the Accounting team in the Carrier Reporting division and be responsible for delivery of quality data validation, analysis, and reporting. This role will work closely with the technology team, product managers and executive level management across the ISC platform to take reporting requirements and make them actionable and easily accessible to the business and our clients.
This role requires onsite attendance in our Carlsbad office Monday-Friday to start.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and validate recurring reports for client delivery, ensuring accuracy, completeness, & consistency.
- Review report outputs to identify unusual trends or potential data discrepancies, escalating issues as needed.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify data requirements and resolve quality issues.
- Assist in formatting and refining reports using tools like Excel and Alteryx.
- Maintain documentation of report preparation procedures & common data issues for team knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the accuracy and timeliness of client deliverables by adhering to established processes and deadlines.
- Learn and apply best practices for handling sensitive data and complying with reporting standards.
- Support the team's efforts in improving reporting efficiency by suggesting process enhancements and identifying automation opportunities.
- Develop foundational skills in data analysis and reporting tools, with opportunities for growth into more complex report development over time.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in a similar role entailing data and reporting responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn proprietary and/or accounting systems.
- Familiarity with SQL or Alteryx is a plus, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet recurring monthly deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
