Mercy Hands Daycare is a licensed, high-quality child care center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children to grow and thrive. We are currently seeking an experienced, compassionate, and qualified Daycare Director to lead our team and ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the center to ensure a safe, enriching environment.
- Maintain compliance with ODJFS child care licensing rules and local health/safety codes.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
- Manage enrollment, billing, and communication with families.
- Maintain accurate records, including staff files, child files, attendance, and incident reports.
- Lead tours and represent the center professionally in the community.
- Handle conflict resolution among staff and families with professionalism and care.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development training.
Required Qualifications (per Ohio licensing requirements):
✅ Must be at least 18 years old.
✅ Must have high school diploma or GED.
✅ Must meet Ohio Administrator qualifications, which means ONE of the following:
- An associate or higher degree in early childhood education, child development, home economics, family studies, or a related field and at least 2 years of experience working with young children.
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and at least 2 years of experience in a licensed child care program.
- At least 4 years of experience in a licensed child care program including 2 years of supervisory experience, and completion of at least 20 clock hours of approved administrator training.
✅ Must complete an ODJFS-approved administrator training course within 6 months of hire (if not already completed).
✅ Must be able to pass BCI and FBI background checks.
✅ Must have or obtain CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Recognition, and Communicable Disease Training.
✅ Must complete ODJFS orientation and health & safety trainings as required.

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Experience managing a team in an early childhood setting.
- Excellent communication with families and staff.
- Passion for early childhood development and education.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $2,000.00 - $2,600.00 per month
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- No weekends
