Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring the comfort of patients.
This position is from Thursday-Sunday. Must be flexible working the weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing and arranging instruments and equipment
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing patient support
- Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist
- Perform patient assessments including taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting chief complaints
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in patient records
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed at all times
- Provide assistance with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or completion of a dental assisting program
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Opendental
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and operating CAD systems
- Understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
