Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures and familiarity with dental software systems. The Dental Assistant will work closely with dentists and other staff to deliver high-quality services in a friendly and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient histories and treatment plans.
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, confirming visits, and providing necessary information to patients.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient record management.
- Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures.
- Assist in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
- Proficient in using dental software systems (We have Dentrix Ascend)
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and ability to perform X-ray procedures.
- Understanding of medical documentation, coding, and records management.
- Experience in various dental specialties such as general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics is desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
