Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring a clean and safe environment
- Perform patient assessments prior to surgery, including reviewing medical records and conducting physical examinations
- Assist with patient positioning and draping for surgical procedures
- Monitor patients during surgery, including vital signs and anesthesia administration
- Document all aspects of the surgical procedure, including surgical techniques, instruments used, and any complications or unexpected findings
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems such as Open Dental
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Attention to detail to accurately document medical information and ensure patient safety
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, experience with Open Dental is highly recommended
- Experience with assisting with I.V. sedation highly recommended
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
