About the role
Barwon Health’s Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) are seeking an experienced and values-driven leader to join our Continuing Care Services (CCS) as Deputy Program Manager. CCS provides ongoing, community-based mental health care to consumers across the Barwon region, with a strong commitment to high quality, innovative and evidence-based practice grounded in the MHDAS principles of recovery-oriented care.
In this role, you will support the Program Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational accountability across Continuing Care Services. As a key member of the CCS Leadership Team, you will provide leadership and mentoring to team managers, hold specific portfolios that contribute to the strategic operations and quality improvement of the service, and work closely with the Deputy Program Medical Directors. You will also act as Program Manager CCS when required, representing the service at forums and committees.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and professional leadership to deliver effective, equitable and recovery-oriented services that are responsive to the needs of consumers, families and carers, including contributing to the MHDAS model of care and the CCS Service Delivery Framework.
- Oversee and support team managers to meet clinical and operational targets and KPIs, ensure compliance with Barwon Health policies, and respond to complaints and feedback in a timely way.
- Lead continuous improvement, quality and risk management within designated portfolios, including accreditation, KPI and outcome data reporting, incident review and OH&S.
What We Are Looking For
- We are looking for an experienced mental health leader who is passionate about recovery-oriented practice and brings an engaging leadership style that fosters commitment, creativity, ownership and recognition within teams. You will be confident working at a strategic level while staying connected to the quality of day-to-day service delivery.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in a mental health or drug and alcohol service, including managing team leaders and supporting HR and industrial processes.
- Strong skills in using data, KPIs and consumer feedback to drive service planning, quality improvement and accountability.
