Position Overview
Jamie’s Landscaping is seeking a motivated Design/Estimate Department Assistant to support our design and estimating team. This role offers hands-on experience in landscape design, project costing, and client interactions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about landscape design, horticulture, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Assist in developing landscape designs using CAD software as recommended by the department lead.
✅ Prepare estimates and material lists for residential and commercial projects.
✅ Assist in pulling and confirming quantities of materials for sold jobs.
✅ Research plant materials, hardscape products, and pricing from vendors; coordinate orders.
✅ Organize and prepare project files and relevant data.
✅ Support client meetings by preparing documentation for the lead designer.
✅ Conduct site visits to gather measurements, photos, and project details.
✅ Place pre-screen phone calls with clients and manage appointments.
✅ Handle invoicing and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
✅ Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain accurate financial records related to projects.
Qualifications & Skills
✔ Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
✔ Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Dynascape, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
✔ Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
✔ Understanding of plant materials and landscape installation.
✔ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.50 / Hour (based on experience and qualifications)
