Job summary: To assure that the dining facilities run smoothly, assuring that residents and guests are served promptly and properly. The Dining Services Attendant plays a critical role in ensuring a positive dining experience for all residents and guests. As a central figure in the daily operations of our dining facilities, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, providing courteous service, and supporting the kitchen and front-of-house teams. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, displays a positive attitude, and is committed to delivering the highest standards of customer service.
Essential duties and responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned.
- Performs duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager as outlined in the operational guide, i.e., serve meals, prepare meal trays, bus tables, clean kitchen and dining room areas.
- Assists in assembly of Medical Center trays in accordance with Title 22 regulations for Skilled Nursing Facilities.
- Responsible for supervision of Medical Center tray line, process in absence of tray line supervisor when applicable.
- Assumes responsibility of driving food delivery cart after completion of 60 days of probation period, which includes drivers training of food delivery cart, must follow all policies and procedures relating to the operation of a Manor vehicle and safe driving guidelines.
- Assumes bartender responsibilities after training and completion of 60 days of probation period.
- Works Hillcrest Dining Room when assigned. Works employee Dining Room when assigned.
- Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards, and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
- Conducts self in a manner that reflects credit on Carmel Valley Manor and encourages others to do the same.
- Demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene, including, but not limited to using proper hand washing techniques, observing "no smoking" policy except in designated areas, wearing hairnet or hat in food production area and maintaining a neat appearance; industry non-slip shoes.
Required Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of at least 6 months’ work experience.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and work harmoniously with personnel, residents, and family members.
- Preferred knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) and Point Click Care (PCC) to simplify dining operations in IL, AL and SNF, and Bistro.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
