Position Overview:
Spellbinders Paper Arts is seeking a dynamic, data-driven, and creative Director of Digital Marketing to lead our digital strategy and marketing initiatives. This leader will oversee the development and execution digital marketing strategies, ecommerce operations, and customer engagement efforts to drive revenue, increase brand awareness, and elevate customer experience across digital platforms for multiple brands.
As a senior leader, you will be responsible for the team that shapes the online presence overseeing marketing campaigns, managing ecommerce performance, and supporting new product launches—all while staying aligned with the company’s values of creativity, community, and innovation in the papercrafting industry.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of digital marketers and specialists.
- Develop and own the full-funnel digital marketing strategy aligned to business goals (growth, retention, customer LTV).
- Define and track KPIs across all digital channels and continuously optimize campaigns for performance.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Sales, Creative, and supply & fulfillment teams to align messaging and priorities.
- Build and manage relationships with partners, consultants, and platform vendors.
Ecommerce Strategy & Operations
- Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Spellbinders and other brands ecommerce websites.
- Optimize digital customer experience, including UX/UI, site speed, conversion rate, and mobile responsiveness.
- Partner with IT and design teams to plan and implement web enhancements and new features.
- Monitor and analyze ecommerce KPIs; manage A/B testing to improve conversion rates, email performance, and customer journey touchpoints.
- Expand digital markets with a focus in UK/EU.
Digital Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Own the integrated marketing calendar, including campaigns, promotions, email marketing, social media, influencer/affiliate outreach, and partnerships.
- Drive customer acquisition and retention through SEO/SEM, paid media, email lifecycle marketing, and affiliate programs.
- Develop brand guidelines and oversee their consistent implementation across all channels.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform brand and campaign direction.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, ecommerce revenue, and ROI.
- Use data to identify growth opportunities and refine strategies.
- Build dashboards and executive summaries to share performance insights across the organization.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- 6–10+ years of digital marketing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role at a DTC e-commerce brand.
- Proven success in managing DTC ecommerce platforms (Shopify Plus ideally).
- Experience managing recurring /subscription-based programs (Paywhirl, Recharge, etc).
- Deep expertise in performance marketing, retention/lifecycle marketing, and content strategy.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using GA4, Shopify analytics, Klaviyo (or similar), and ad platforms.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive measurable results.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in the arts & crafts, hobby, or consumer goods industry.
- Passion for papercrafting or a strong appreciation for the creative community.
- Familiarity with creative and design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)

Pay: $96,100.00 - $104,927.00 per year
