The Role

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Director of Growth Marketing to lead our new business growth strategy through data-driven, multi-channel marketing campaigns. In this role, you will create a comprehensive growth marketing strategy, with a focus on measurable performance through the execution and development of growth loops. You’ll experiment aggressively, optimize relentlessly, and operate at the intersection of product, marketing, and data—crafting the playbook that turns curiosity into clicks, and clicks into committed users. In addition to executing the findings, you will also be responsible for presenting these findings, and identifying opportunities for scaling successful initiatives.

The Director of Growth Marketing will play a critical role in driving growth for GitKraken’s product-led engine. You will develop and execute strategies to generate leads, nurture prospects, and optimize conversion across the entire customer acquisition funnel.

We are committed to having an inclusive and authentic work environment where unique perspectives, skills, and backgrounds are celebrated. We work hard to foster diversity in our workplace and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. Even if you don't meet 100% of the requirements, don't let self-filtering and imposter syndrome get in the way of a great fit. We would love to hear from you!

What you’ll do

  • Drive top-of-funnel growth through performance marketing, lifecycle campaigns, developer-centric SEO, and content distribution strategies that speak developer.
  • Develop and own a comprehensive demand generation strategy aligned with company OKRs and revenue targets.
  • Instrument growth loops by aligning product usage data (Amplitude, Segment, GA4, etc.) with marketing automation workflows (HubSpot, Customer.io, etc.).
  • Manage a significant advertising budget.
  • Partner with DevRel, Content and web to amplify launches, community content, and open-source awareness in relevant dev communities (Reddit, Stack Overflow, Hacker News, Twitter/X, etc.) as well as within GEO and SEO.
  • Present campaign results, insights, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead the development and implementation of web analytics, event tracking, and attribution models to accurately measure campaign performance and ROI.
  • Plan and prioritize initiatives using the RICE framework (Reach, Impact, Confidence, Effort), ensuring that the most impactful experiments are executed first.
  • Drive technical efforts to build a robust data and reporting infrastructure to enable high-velocity testing and optimization.
  • Build and optimize email automation workflows in HubSpot.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in a demand generation leadership role at a product-led growth (PLG) company.
  • Proven experience in creating and executing demand generation strategies that significantly drive awareness, pipeline growth, and revenue.
  • Deep technical understanding of web analytics, attribution models, and data infrastructure to support performance tracking.
  • Proficiency in using data analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau) to derive actionable insights and inform strategic decisions.
  • A playbook for utilizing AI to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with technical stakeholders to implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to synthesize information into concise, actionable insights.
  • Proven track record in managing acquisition strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and campaign analysis.
  • Partner marketing and account-based marketing experience.
  • A history of marketing to a highly technical developer audience.
  • Fluency in
developer channels (GitHub, Stack Overflow, Reddit, Discord, etc.) and how to build trust in dev communities.
  • Excellent storytelling, copywriting, and UX instincts—especially in the context of onboarding and in-product messaging.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, speed, and shifting priorities—this is a startup velocity environment.

How you’ll be rewarded

Excellence — Competitive compensation with annual performance-based pay increases

Trust — Flexible Paid-Time-Off Policy (behaves like Unlimited PTO)

Travel — Company paid domestic trip after your 1-year anniversary & an international trip every 5 years

Balance — Paid company holidays with flexibility for additional holidays
