We have partnered with a prestigious luxury beach resort in North Carolina to recruit an accomplished Director of Engineering. This leadership position is responsible for safeguarding the physical integrity, safety, and operational excellence of the property while upholding Forbes Five-Star and luxury brand standards.
The Director of Engineering will lead all aspects of engineering, maintenance, and capital projects, ensuring that the resort’s guest-facing spaces, back-of-house areas, and critical infrastructure operate seamlessly. A hands-on leader, the Director will manage preventive maintenance programs, sustainability initiatives, and vendor relationships, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and maintenance team, overseeing all building systems, guest room and public space upkeep, and preventive maintenance programs
- Develop and execute capital improvement projects that enhance guest experience and long-term asset value
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, EPA, and other regulatory standards, with a strong focus on safety and risk management
- Implement sustainable practices to reduce energy usage and support environmental initiatives
- Collaborate with ownership and senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning
- Provide leadership and training to foster a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence within the engineering department
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record as a Director of Engineering or senior facilities leader within luxury resorts or Forbes-rated properties. Strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, coupled with capital project management experience, is essential. A detail-oriented, proactive leader, this individual must balance technical expertise with the ability to inspire teams and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a flawless guest experience.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
