Summary
Manages daily operations of the Finance Team. Responsible for the functioning of the agency’s accounts payable, general ledger and related subsidiary ledgers, cash management and financial reporting systems. Directs the efforts of staff working in the areas noted above, scheduling time as needed to assure that the work objectives are attained in a consistent and timely manner; supervises the month end General Ledger closing process and preparation of monthly financial statements; directs year-end audit preparation and completion; and effectively manages the Agency’s cash resources.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage risk effectively.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance against budget.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support strategic planning initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field and 3-5 years experience directing staff in the use of online accounting and financial reporting software or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Ability to apply sound accounting judgment in the reporting of financial transactions consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to all assigned financial functions. Including ability to use CSAC financial software, Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and organizations.
- To be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
