SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday with occasional weekends
TARGET COMPENSATION: $100,000–$125,000 base salary + performance incentives

The Director of Human Resources is a high-impact, strategic leadership role responsible for the full scope of HR functions, including talent strategy, workforce planning, organizational development, compliance, and culture-building. Reporting directly to the company president, this role is also charged with leading the development of wraparound employee support programs aligned with our mission as a fair chance employer. This role will be critical in supporting rapid organizational growth, cultivating an inclusive culture, building high-performing teams, and advancing holistic employee success through innovative workforce development and support services.
JOB DUTIES
Strategic People Leadership
· Design and execute an integrated HR strategy that aligns with business goals.
· Partner with senior leadership to drive a high-performing, values-based culture.
· Provide expert counsel on workforce trends, employment law, and organizational design.
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning
· Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts with a focus on equitable, inclusive hiring practices.
· Develop strategic workforce plans and pipelines to meet future organizational needs.
· Oversee onboarding, orientation, and early-career retention initiatives.
People Development & Organizational Effectiveness
· Establish and scale leadership development, career pathing, and performance programs.
· Facilitate change management initiatives and team-building interventions.
· Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Employee Experience & Engagement
· Champion programs that enhance morale, well-being, and employee voice.
· Ensure consistent application of policies and conflict resolution practices.
· Conduct climate surveys and implement engagement action plans.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
· Oversee competitive total rewards strategy including pay structure and benefits.
· Analyze compensation benchmarking and benefits utilization to guide strategy.
· Optimize benefits communications and employee support tools.
Compliance, Policy & HR Operations
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
· Oversee HR systems (HRIS), record-keeping, and operational processes.
· Lead internal HR audits and risk management procedures.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB)
· Develop and execute DEIB strategy in collaboration with leadership and employees.
· Monitor DEIB metrics and foster accountability across all levels of the organization.
Workforce Stability & Wraparound Services
· Lead the development and oversight of programs that support employee success beyond the workplace, including access to affordable housing, transportation, and financial literacy. This includes working with budget planning, securing external partnerships, and supervising staff or consultants as needed to implement these initiatives.
· Establish strategic partnerships with local housing authorities, nonprofits, and transportation providers to expand employee support networks.
· Collaborate with external organizations and internal teams to design and implement job-readiness and life skills training programs.
· Advocate for resources, grants, and community partnerships that align with the company’s mission as a fair chance employer.
· Track the impact of wraparound programs on employee retention, engagement, and overall well-being.
Labor Relations (if applicable)
· Manage collective bargaining agreements and union relationships in partnership with legal counsel.
· Oversee negotiations, grievances, and labor-related investigations as needed.
HR Analytics & Reporting
· Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure HR program impact.
· Present people insights and data-driven recommendations to executive leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
· 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a strategic or senior leadership capacity.
· Demonstrated success in HR strategy, people leadership, and change management.
· Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and risk mitigation.
· Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and executive influencing skills.
· Experience in DEIB, employee relations, talent management, and culture building.
· Experience designing or supporting workforce development, transitional employment, or community-based support initiatives is a plus.
· SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or other relevant certification preferred.
· Experience with UKG Ready software preferred.
