Job Summary:
The Director of Information Systems will support the global business and continue to drive the current strategy. The technology strategy is integrated with the Engineering, Commercial and Manufacturing functions. Also, this position is accountable for the creation of the strategic vision as well as the management and operations of the technology environment. This position plans, directs and controls activities of the global Information Systems organization made up of ~70 resources. The successful leader is responsible for the business unit’s technology in support of short-term and long-range objectives and strategies – to be achieved through effective planning and performance of the Information Systems team and technology.
In this role, you will:
- Recommend and plan information systems to support and meet company objectives based on research and evaluation.
- Direct implementation and execution of new/upgraded information systems via well-defined plans including development of procedures, adherence to deadlines, and assignment of accountability for support.
- Design and deploy digital solutions using technology to automate business processes.
- Evaluate and implement IS procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment.
- Full stack and angular knowledge to grow the online buying channel. - Lead operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing the allocation of resources.
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience to integrate data, processes, business systems and people.
- Ensure the efficient utilization of IS resources – including personnel and equipment – across the organization through the sharing of best practices and deployment of common solutions.
- Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IS infrastructure and IS systems; works with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
- Partner in the expansion and adoption of Manufacturing Execution Systems and digital solutions that drive digital and physical automation in manufacturing and warehouse management.
- Direct research on potential IS solutions in support of procurement efforts to meet local and corporate needs.
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IS spending and initiatives.
- Utilize and grow the business intelligence platform to enable the business to make data-based decisions.
- Participate with Arconic corporate on the negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IS activities.
- Evaluate current computing environments to best utilize and take advantage of SaaS, IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Manage financial aspects of global IS spending within BU IS budget constraints. This includes close monitoring of software/hardware purchases, travel, and training expenditures along with Arconic GBS-IS chargeback invoices.
- Participate as a member of the Arconic Global IS Leaders organization. Provide input into strategic and tactical IS decisions made by this group that affect Arconic globally and regionally.
- Monitor and manage all IS Audits and testing to ensure timely compliance with all Arconic IS and SOX requirements.

- The successful incumbent to this position has demonstrated the ability to achieve results in partnering with functional business teams and using technology to advance the business.
- Experience in large scale B2B eCommerce sites, BIM modeling, Autodesk solutions including 3D models and digital manufacturing solutions is what this incumbent needs to be successful.
- Provide cost effective delivery of information systems and reliability of the computing environment in concert with establishing a technical roadmap within the framework of Arconic’s strategy, guidelines and policies.
You have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Management Information Systems from an accredited institution
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Information Systems/Technology
- 8 years of leadership experience Information Systems/Technology
