Reporting directly to the Vice President for Communications and Marketing and Senior Advisor to the President, the Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the department’s marketing efforts. The individual oversees priority objectives of the department including working with appropriate college offices and departments to realize student recruitment and enrollment goals, supporting and promoting college initiatives year-round and working strategically with the College’s internal and external constituents to ensure an integrated, engaging and effective image, consistent with the College’s Strategic Plan.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • In consultation with the Vice President for Communications and Marketing and Senior Advisor to the President, works with Admissions and Enrollment, Institutional Advancement, academic departments, campus offices and students to develop effective marketing strategies to help enhance student recruitment and realize enrollment goals.
  • Develops and implements campaigns to foster awareness of College activities and initiatives to promote the visibility and reputation of the College.
  • Supervises Marketing staff involved with video production, website development, social media, internal and external campus communications, vendor and corporate relationships, external digital marketing support, and utilization of enrollment-oriented search engines.
  • Assists with development, implementation and oversight of College-wide marketing plans to achieve institutional goals, consistent with the Strategic Plan.
  • Identifies needs for market research in collaboration with appropriate college offices, implements necessary studies, and assesses results.
  • Develops and evaluates key metrics of marketing effectiveness.
  • Participates in college committees, campus task forces, working groups and administrative councils in order to provide extensive marketing input and expertise.
  • Develops, advocates for and administers Queens College's marketing budget, analyzing key metrics of budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises, monitors and evaluates performance of full-time and part-time employees, including student interns.
  • Performs related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a team of full-time and part-time employees.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and clients with competing priorities, from inception to completion.
  • Budget management and advocacy abilities

  • Designs and executes a comprehensive strategic plan for marketing, advertising and communications
  • Develops overall advertising and media strategies to achieve image, awareness, enrollment, recruiting, and/or fundraising goals
  • Provide professional and managerial oversight of a broad range of marketing programs and tools, including digital, print, mail, broadcast, social networking, and other media
  • Manages and develops internal staff and external resources
  • Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness, as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns
  • Performs related duties as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range is $111,560 - $124,656, commensurate with education and experience.
