A well-established skilled nursing facility in Cherokee County, SC is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and ensure the highest quality of care for our residents.
Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the overall clinical operation of the facility. This includes oversight of nursing staff, regulatory compliance, patient outcomes, staff education, and ensuring a culture of compassionate care. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the nursing department
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee infection control and quality assurance programs
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage scheduling
- Provide training, supervision, and performance evaluations for nursing staff
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Serve as a resource for clinical decision-making and family communication
- Assist in budget planning and operational strategies
Requirements:
- Active RN license in South Carolina (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Knowledge of CMS regulations and state/federal compliance standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for improving patient outcomes and supporting staff development
- Previous experience as a DON or ADON
- Familiarity with our EMR system, PointClickCare
- Experience with quality metrics and survey preparedness

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
