The Director of Operations for Lipscomb University Department of Security is responsible for overall management and implementation of the Chief of Security’s vison for the Patrol Division, Academy School Safety Officer Division, and delegating daily operational tasks to the appropriate personnel. The Director of Operations also works to maintain a relationship with external law enforcement entities, Lipscomb Academy staff to bolster security operations for each location, implement training and officer development, and management of the parking plan.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor at all times, and practice good front-facing customer service with the public.
- Assist Chief of Security, Director of Communications, and Director of Support Services with essential functions as needed.
- Oversee and develop a safe and effective training program to ensure a high standard of professionalism and response.
- Coordinate with Lipscomb Academy leadership to provide a safe environment for Academy students.
- Seek out grants and funding for increased security at Lipscomb Academy schools.
- Oversee daily Patrol operations division of the Department of Security.
- Serve as police liaison to Metro Nashville Police and other law enforcement, first responder partners.
- Develop and oversee enforcement of parking plan at Lipscomb University and Lipscomb Academy.
- Direct oversight of Parking Coordinator.
- Direct oversight of Academy School Safety Officer team.
- Direct oversight of Patrol shift supervisors.
Education:
High School graduate minimum, bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
4+ years Security or Law Enforcement management experience
