Position Overview: Director of Learning & Service
As a member of the senior leader of the team, the Director of Learning & Service is responsible for cultivating a culture of luxury service, professional development, and continuous improvement. This role champions our service values across F&B, blending classic hospitality with modern innovation. The position will design and implement training strategies that reflect global luxury benchmarks while embracing our club’s unique identity and culture.
This individual also plays a hands-on operational leadership role in all front-of-house performance, training execution, and member service excellence—ensuring that daily operations reflect the same values instilled through learning and development.
Requirements
Strategic Learning Leadership- Design and lead a holistic learning and development strategy that supports our service mission.
- Integrate service philosophies from industry leading standards into training initiative.
- Collaborate with department heads—especially F&B and Member Services—to align learning outcomes with operational goals and member experience standards.
Curriculum Development & Delivery
- Lead and facilitate New Hire Orientation, instilling core values and service expectations from day one.
- Develop custom content for onboarding, leadership development, technical training, and service enhancement.
- Incorporate storytelling, etiquette, anticipatory service, and local cultural immersion into all programs.
- Utilize modern learning tools—digital platforms, microlearning, and immersive simulations—to drive retention and engagement.
Culture & Service Excellence
- Champion a culture of emotional intelligence, curiosity, and hospitality excellence.
- Facilitate workshops that elevate team member confidence, leadership presence, and service storytelling.
- Promote warmth, generosity, and authentic member connections as cornerstones of club culture.
Operational & Front-of-House Leadership
- Hire, train, and supervise all front-of-house personnel.
- Set and implement work schedules for FOH staff, events, and comfort stations to ensure excellence in execution.
- Manage table service standards and uphold consistency with established SOPs and training manuals.
- Conduct monthly inventories and control beverage and labor costs; maintain liquor cost control and implement recipe standards.
- Order all alcoholic beverages and assist with pricing strategies for menu items.
- Ensure compliance with Health regulations and maintain highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation throughout all FOH areas.
- Maintain FOH equipment and systems.
- Oversee event execution and support planning for tournaments and member functions.
Quality Assurance & Standards Integration
- Conduct regular service audits and simulations to evaluate performance and consistency.
- Coach leaders and teams to close service gaps and elevate member satisfaction.
- Guide the team in preparation for internal assessments, external reviews, and recognition programs.
Talent Development & Succession Planning
- Establish Train-the-Trainer programs to scale learning across departments.
- Mentor emerging leaders through structured growth paths, coaching, and certification programs.
- Design internal recognition and certification models aligned with international luxury standards.
- Promote inclusive, culturally aware development practices that celebrate diversity and authenticity.
- Evaluate staff performance and lead disciplinary or coaching conversations as needed.
- Develop ongoing education, testing, and training documentation to ensure standards are consistently upheld.
Administrative & Budget Responsibilities
- Assist in development and monitoring of departmental budgets and cost analysis.
- Participate in and oversee the completion of end-of-month inventories for bars and storerooms.
- Record and maintain documentation related to training, performance reviews, meetings, and operational updates.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in luxury hospitality or private club learning & development, with 3+ years in a senior leadership or operations role.
- Deep familiarity with world class service standards.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage operations, and influence service culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Strong operational understanding of front-of-house restaurant, bar, and event service.
- Exceptional leadership presence, facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in hiring, scheduling, and managing multi-level front-of-house teams.
Working Conditions & Expectations
- High-visibility leadership role with both strategic and operational responsibilities.
- Requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varied environments.
- Standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.) required.

- Deep familiarity with world class service standards.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage operations, and influence service culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Strong operational understanding of front-of-house restaurant, bar, and event service.
- Exceptional leadership presence, facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in hiring, scheduling, and managing multi-level front-of-house teams.
Working Conditions & Expectations
