Position Summary
The newly created role of Source Director – Personal Care will have primary responsibility for defining and executing the Personal Care business‘ sourcing strategy. You’ll be providing direction for the sourcing strategy and defining new sourcing partnerships and inititives in partnership with Product Management, Commercial Managment, Procurement, and Operations. Your experience with asset management and structuring vendor contracts in partnership with Procurement will help drive cost-effective sourcing decisions to optimize our business. Success in this role is measured by managing inventory levels, supply availability and lead-times in alignment with the strategic Pesonal Care portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop sourcing strategy across the product portfolio in alignment with Personal Care Marketing.
  • Drive execution of sourcing strategy with Product Management.
  • Optimize cost-effective points of sources and manage in-house vs. co-manufacturing and single vs. double sourcing strategies.
  • Direct sourcing decisions to Procurement team for execution, vendor pool management, and lead time optimization.
  • Lead asset management strategy in alignment with Product Management.
  • Structure new vendor contracts.
  • Identify and solve for gaps in the Personal Care portfolio vs. the external market and our Marketing team and analyzing risk against opportunities in the Personal Care business.
  • Defining and driving objectives of product sourcing strategy and sourcing partnerships for Personal Care business including domestic and international sourcing needs and defining and executing key sourcing initiatives.
  • Advise Vantage sourcing team of strategic partnerships with private label / Vantage branded providers, dual sourcing, and more.
  • Strong collaboration with Supply Chain, Quality, Regulation, and regional business groups.
  • Drives procurement initiatives and cost saving targets in support of the Personal Care annual operating plan.
  • Proactively plans for crisis management and risk mitigation in advance of potential supply chain disruptions or impacts with critical suppliers.
  • Product development: Work with Marketing, Production, Purchasing and Laboratory to identify, justify, submit and execute product and process development projects to improve profitability and/or efficiencies.
  • Driving our Customer First strategy to ensure we are delighting our customers ‘from source to formulation’.
  • Managing / informing pricing and positioning of the Personal Care product portfolio.
  • Driving and elevating the customer execution of the Personal Care Account Aligned Teams.
The Ideal Candidate
Desired Background:
General Experience: 10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, assett management, business management, product managment, commercial managment, or supply chain management.
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Marketing, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, & Talents

  • Highly data driven with strong analytical capabilities to interpret data from multiple sources (e.g., market research, cost models, performance reports)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively negotiate and maintain supplier relationships
  • Solid understanding of market trends, supply chain dynamics, industry best-practices, single / double sourcing strategy, in-house vs. co-manufacturing, buy vs. resell.
  • Ability to support cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Procurement to execute profitable growth.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key contract setup with suppliers.
  • Ability to efficiently navigate the space between Marketing, Product Management, and Asset Management
  • Ability to identify strategic priorities that drive maximum impact to the business, and implementing plans to execute.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within matrixed teams to execute against strategic initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills; able to help shape solutions, not just coordinate.
Working Conditions
  • Travel 10-25%
Pay and Benefits
The estimated base pay range for this position is: 168k – 252k annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills ,and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
