Job Summary:
The Director Strategic Data Partnerships is responsible for establishing and developing relationships with key industry partners to expand access to data and data rights for the development of innovative commercial data and analytics products. The Director Strategic Data Partnerships will also play a crucial role in establishing partnerships that accelerate Surescripts’ go-to-market strategy for data monetization.
Responsibilities:
Industry Partnership Development
- Identify, establish, and cultivate strategic relationships with data providers, industry organizations, and technology partners to support Surescripts' data and analytics initiatives.
- Negotiate and secure agreements for data access, licensing, and rights to enable the development of commercial products.
- Leverage partnerships to drive innovation and enhance Surescripts' competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Data Strategy and Monetization
- Develop and execute strategies to utilize data assets for creating monetizable analytics products and driving revenue growth through partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product development, analytics, legal, sales, and marketing) to align data initiatives with broader organizational goals.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for Surescripts’ data partnership initiatives.
- Engage with senior executives and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for partnership strategies.
- Represent Surescripts at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and foster collaboration.
- Build and lead a team of professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support talent within the data partnerships function, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
Performance Tracking
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of partnerships and data monetization strategies.
- Regularly report on partnership outcomes, including revenue metrics, product adoption, and market penetration.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or data monetization roles, ideally within healthcare, technology, or analytics sectors.
- Proven track record of negotiating complex agreements and driving revenue through data-related partnerships.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward achieving ambitious goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for stakeholder engagement and relationship-building.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree e.g., MBA or MS in a relevant field preferred
- Experience with healthcare data and analytics products.
- Experience with economic modeling, financial forecasting, and contract negotiation. Experience negotiating and securing agreements for data access, licensing, and rights to enable the development of commercial products
- Deep understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Prior success in scaling data-driven products and services within a competitive market.

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $203,600 - $248,800 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
