Position Overview:
The Dispatcher will play a key role in coordinating service calls, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth communication between customers, technicians, and office staff. This position is critical in maintaining our reputation for prompt and reliable service.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch electricians and technicians to customer sites based on location, urgency, and skillset.
- Monitor ongoing jobs to ensure timely completion and resolve any scheduling conflicts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, updates, and follow-ups.
- Provide accurate ETA updates and ensure excellent customer service.
- Optimize daily schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce travel time for technicians.
- Track inventory and tools to ensure technicians are prepared for each job.
- Enter job details, work orders, and notes into the company’s scheduling software.
- Maintain accurate records of completed and pending jobs.
- Address unexpected delays, rescheduling needs, or emergency calls promptly and professionally.
- Liaise between technicians and management to resolve field issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with utility companies as needed to ensure service readiness and avoid delays.
- Provide the team with all necessary reporting metrics to track performance, job status, and scheduling efficiency.
- Ensure technicians are completing all assigned duties, job documentation, and follow-up tasks in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, or related roles (experience in the electrical or construction industry is preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to think on your feet.
- Team player with a customer-focused attitude.
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in work.
