SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (OT as needed)
PAY RATE: $24.50 -$26.50+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefit Package
LOCATION: Minnkota Windows West Fargo, ND

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Document Control Specialist (1 & 2) is responsible for ensuring that all documentation, processes, and procedures related to manufacturing, quality control, maintenance and shipping/receiving are accurate, consistent, and compliant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the Minnkota Windows Game Changer definition.
  • Comprehend all company safety, quality, production, engineering, maintenance and shipping/receiving requirements.
  • Ensure all documents are current, accurately maintained, and systematically organized for efficient retrieval and compliance.
  • Ensure that documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Create and maintain standardized templates for various processes and ensure they are being used consistently across departments.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for different aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material sourcing to the final assembly of products.
  • Track process changes and promptly update associated documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with current procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure processes are clearly documented, effectively communicated, and consistently implemented.
  • Provide training to staff on proper document management and process adherence, promoting compliance with established best practices.
  • Utilize and administer document control systems (e.g., SharePoint) to efficiently store, organize, and retrieve documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality, contributing to overall organizational excellence.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALITIES

  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written, mathematical, and comprehension skills.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities and consistently demonstrates integrity, reliability, and accountability.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to perform tasks accurately and with a high degree of thoroughness.
  • Proactive in decision-making and problem-solving to support operational goals and drive results.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or higher in a related field of study is preferred- or equivalent work and/or industry experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least three years in Quality Inspection, or an equivalent combination. Prior experience in window manufacturing is preferred.

Specific Requirements for Levels 2

Document Control Specialist 2
In addition to Document Control Specialist 1:
  • Proficiency in various document management systems (e.g. SharePoint) and their functionalities.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) and their application to document control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for documentation creation, editing, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain the functionality and efficiency of digital document control tools and systems.
  • Complete required training courses related to document control systems and best practices.
