Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who love animals and have experience in handling various breeds. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of dogs during walks, providing companionship, and maintaining a positive relationship with pet owners. Your expertise in dog handling and care will be essential in delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs of various sizes and temperaments, ensuring their safety at all times
- Provide basic training commands during walks to reinforce good behavior
- Monitor the health and behavior of dogs, reporting any concerns to pet owners
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets before, during, and after walks
- Handle multiple dogs at once while ensuring they are well-managed and secure
- Assist with pet sitting and care as needed, including feeding and administering medications
- Engage with clients to provide updates on their pets' activities and well-being
- Maintain accurate records of walks, including duration, distance, and any notable behaviors
Qualifications
- Experience in dog handling or training is highly preferred
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is a plus
- Familiarity with animal care practices, including restraint techniques and grooming
- Previous experience in pet sitting or kennel environments is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners
- Ability to lift heavy objects as needed (e.g., large dog crates or supplies)
- Knowledge of equine care is beneficial but not required
- Passion for animals and commitment to providing high-quality pet care
