Summary:
Helping to maintain people’s independence is the cornerstone philosophy of Meals on Wheels. For forty years we have been providing hot, nutritious meals to homebound elderly and disabled persons in Duval County. This position will direct and supervise the efficient operation of the Meals on Wheels and Foodservices drivers as well as our fleet management. This position will work closely with the Meals on Wheels Program Director, the Dietician and the Director of Operations on a full-time basis, will serve as part of the management team and will perform the duties outlined below.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associates degree with 1 year management experience OR Two years management/ business experience
- Previous fleet management and routing experience preferred
- Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving history
- Excellent computer skills, with working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.
- Successful completion of a level II criminal background check and drug screening.
Experience:
- A qualified candidate must have experience in fleet and route management
- Demonstration of excellent customer service with the ability to train and implement needed changes to improve driver safety and retention
- Microsoft office knowledge and database management experience is essential
- Documentation of inventory management and ordering is vital
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the daily operations of Aging True’s 14 vehicle fleet
- Coordinate and oversee meal deliveries are completed by MOW & food services
- Develop improved routing with better efficiency for completing deliveries
- Coordinate maintenance and emergency needs of vehicles via driver & mechanic
- Assist with ensuring quality service in all aspects of the MOW department
- Assist with Meals on Wheels Director with meeting outlined department goals
- Manage employees and conduct periodic performance evaluations
- Participate in the hiring, training, discipline and dismissal of employees
- Manage the daily operations of the department including operational and financial decisions and private pay initiatives from the food services division
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Lifting capability of 40 to 75 pounds
- Climbing stairs
- Entering and exiting vehicles that have a high ground clearance
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordination of training for all MOW and CFI drivers
- Assist with meeting OAA contract compliance standards
