Duties
- Operate a tractor-trailer or other types of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, and tankers.
- Plan and execute routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on route driving.
- Familiarity with various types of trailers such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, and tankers is preferred.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Must be able to pass all required background checks and drug screenings.
