As a Drop Bury Technician at MoldCable Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting the infrastructure that keeps homes and businesses connected. This position involves the installation and burial of low-voltage communication cables—such as coaxial, fiber optic, and phone lines—from utility pedestals or service points to the customer’s premises. Your work will directly impact the delivery of essential services like internet, cable television, voice, and security systems.
You will be responsible for conducting site evaluations, determining the best cable routing, and performing safe digging operations while avoiding existing utilities. The ideal candidate has experience in outdoor physical labor, is familiar with utility locating procedures (811), and can operate trenching tools and equipment. You’ll also interact professionally with customers, ensure job sites are left clean and restored, and document work through photos and digital records.
This is a hands-on, field-based role that requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
What You’ll Do:
- Bury low-voltage cables from pedestals to customer properties
- Ensure proper burial depth and adherence to safety codes
- Locate underground utilities before digging
- Restore job sites to their original condition
- Maintain detailed records, including photos and measurements
- Operate tools, vehicles, and small trenching equipment
- Deliver professional, respectful customer service
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
What We’re Looking For:
- Basic knowledge of cable or fiber installations
- Familiarity with utility locating (811) and safe digging practices
- Ability to use trenching tools and read site maps
- CDL or trenching equipment experience is a plus
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
- Valid Driver License Card and Social Security with a clean records
- White colored minivan/ pickup truck
