Earn $29.00-$40.00/hour based on experience/certification.
Schedule: Weekdays, flexible hours
Position Summary
The Drug and Alcohol Therapist works on a fee-for-service basis in the outpatient setting, focusing on the delivery of quality therapeutic services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The therapist conducts assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing counseling in accordance with state regulations and agency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intake and Assessment:
- Evaluate new client referrals to determine the appropriate level of care and treatment approach. Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments and compile case histories following Merakey policies and the guidelines of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH).
- Treatment Planning:
- Develop a preliminary treatment plan based on the client’s presenting concerns, to be completed by the end of the second counseling session.
- Establish a comprehensive Master Treatment Plan by the fourth session, outlining specific, measurable long- and short-term goals, and the recommended services and frequency to meet those goals.
- Therapy and Counseling:
- Provide individual and/or group therapy and supportive counseling to clients with substance use disorders. Maintain a regular schedule of clinical case consultations with a supervisor or other licensed clinical staff
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with agency protocols and regulatory requirements.

QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Criminal Justice required
- Active addiction or drug and alcohol certification preferred
- Certified Associate Addiction Counselor (CAAC)
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
- Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC)
- At least one year experience in the delivery of psychological services preferred
