Eliada Homes, a historical fixture within Western North Carolina since 1903, is one Asheville's longest running nonprofits. Child Development staff work with children up to 5 years of age providing them with services which focus on social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development while integrating life-skills into our daily activities and lessons.

The Early Childhood Education After School Group Leads are tasked with the safety and supervision of school age students while creating an exciting recreational, educational, and social schedule for campers to enjoy each day!
What you'll be doing:
- Ensures that a child’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met through visual supervision and observation of the group; one-on-one interactions with individual children; regular communication with parents, caregivers and other staff; and working with parents and support agencies to devise individual education plans for children with special needs.
- Writes and implements daily/weekly plan for children in the classroom.
- Ensures that necessary classroom records and documentation are kept current, organized, on file, and posted.
- Ensures, through communication with administrative staff, that licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the classroom.
- Provides leadership by acting as a positive role model for assistant group leader and creates professional climate for carrying out the daily operations of the classroom.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 18 years of age; at least one year’s experience in a licensed school age program/camp setting is preferred.
