As an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern at Danfoss Drives in Loves Park, Illinois, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting safety, environmental, and compliance initiatives in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You’ll work alongside experienced EHS professionals to improve workplace safety, reduce risk, and strengthen environmental compliance. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support environmental, health, and safety inspections, audits, and assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and help reduce workplace risks.
  • Participate in machine safety assessments, hazard identification, and corrective action activities to enhance safety performance across the facility.
  • Assist with updating EHS procedures, work instructions, and chemical risk assessments to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Create and deliver training materials, safety communications, and toolbox talks that promote a strong safety culture.
  • Collaborate with production, operations, and EHS teams, participate in safety committee meetings, and help drive completion of improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Confidence to share ideas, challenge the status quo respectfully, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and an interest in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk management.

  4. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $22.00-$26.00 per hour + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
