Title: Environmental Health, Safety, & Security Technician

Focus: The Environmental Health, Safety, & Security Technician is responsible for implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the management systems (work processes, standards, procedures) to ensure regulatory compliance and add value to meet site objectives and maintain the license to operate.
The Freeport site is the single largest chlor alkali complex in the world with more than 1,000 employees. The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.
Environmental Health, Safety, & Security Technician Essential Responsibilities:
- Access control: Maintain the Olin Freeport Site Contractor Onboarding systems by ensuring they meet Olin, TXO site and Olin’s 3rd party requirements for site access, correct labor force and State/Federal reporting processes. This includes implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting access control systems to safeguard Process Safety Management, information, and resources
- Assist in preparation of various presentations and reports for both internal and external audiences (EPA, TCEQ, OSHA/VPP, TCC, LEPC, etc.)
- Assist with Freeport EH&S & IH departments for site, state and federal audit/monitoring by taking instruction and working with staff to conduct basic data searches, audits of job tasks, aid with calibration of instruments, and perform air/noise, chemical samples, and job task walk throughs, as needed
- Review and update PSM data reporting, Chlorine Institute report, and annual submission via TCEQ STEERS system
- Record, track, and manage timely response for Notices of Violation / Enforcement (NOV/NOE) and Agreed Orders. Ensure records are complete for all Ordering Provisions (fines and SEP payments, notifications to operations personnel, corrective actions completed).
- Record and track Audit Privilege notices, disclosures and periodic updates
Environmental Health, Safety, & Security Technician Minimum Requirements:

Must meet one of the following minimum requirements:
- High school diploma/equivalent and 4 years full time work experience; OR
- Associate’s degree* in EH&S, Quality, or related discipline and 2 years of full time work experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree* in EH&S, Quality, Safety, Security, or related discipline
- Manufacturing and/or Maintenance plant experience preferred; working knowledge of SAP, Data file systems (D2), Action Management Tool (AMT), Management of Change (MOC), and safety data management tools and/or systems is strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to lead meetings and deliver presentations
- Ability to work independently on complex projects, manage conflicts and provide resolution using a combination of technical skills, teamwork, and personal credibility
- Solid Microsoft Office skills using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
