Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a qualified Electronic Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic security systems for government and defense-related facilities. This role requires hands-on experience with IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in secure environments. This is a fully onsite position in Norfolk, VA.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Technician include:
- Install, configure, and maintain electronic security systems including intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems.
- Conduct site surveys, interpret technical drawings, and ensure installations meet NEC and project specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system evaluations.
- Program and commission head-end equipment and field devices.
- Troubleshoot and isolate system and hardware issues at both local and global levels.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed using tools such as Infralink.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and project meetings.
- Mentor junior technicians and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Track and inventory tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
Qualifications for the Electrical Technician include:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours).
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance.
Compensation for the Electrical Engineer include:
- Salary Range: $60,000-65,000 **depending on experience**
