About the Role

We are now looking for an Embedded Software Application Engineer Specialist to join a skilled team working with Electrohydraulic Steering Systems in Göteborg. You will be part of a collaborative engineering environment responsible for developing steering solutions across the full product lifecycle, from requirements and specification through development, testing, release, and end-customer follow-up.

You will work closely with embedded software engineers, mechatronic engineers, verification engineers, global development teams, and suppliers to develop robust software solutions for advanced vehicle steering systems.

Key

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain, document, and release software solutions for electrohydraulic steering systems.
  • Work across the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements and logic design to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Specify requirements and break down functional and software logic.
  • Take operational responsibility for your assigned scope and drive improvements when needed.
  • Work closely with global development teams and suppliers to deliver complete software platforms.
  • Tune functionality at vehicle level and perform hands-on feature testing and troubleshooting.
  • Support rapid prototyping and systems development activities.
  • Contribute to functional safety and cybersecurity activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous learning and engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Electronics, or a similar field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in embedded software or systems development.
  • Strong experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience with AUTOSAR integration and Vector DaVinci.
  • Strong programming experience in C++ and C#.
  • Experience with CANoe and CANalyzer.
  • Experience with Git and static code analysis tools.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, preferably using dSPACE tools.
  • Knowledge of SystemWeaver (SE-TOOL).
  • Knowledge of diagnostics and the UDS protocol.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety.
  • Experience or knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics and Advanced Steering Systems is beneficial.
  • C/CE driving licence is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with global teams and suppliers.
