Emergency Preparedness Coordinator – Contract

Your Day-to-Day:
- Developing and Maintaining Emergency Plans: This includes creating detailed plans that outline procedures for various emergency scenarios, such as accidents, natural disasters, or other incidents that could lead to the release of radiation.
- Coordinating with Stakeholders: The coordinator works with internal teams (plant personnel), external agencies (local, state, and federal), and other relevant organizations to ensure a unified and effective response.
- Ensuring Compliance: The coordinator ensures the plant adheres to all relevant regulations and guidelines related to emergency preparedness, including those set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
- Assessing Threats and Risks: The coordinator monitors potential threats and risks, assesses their potential impact, and develops strategies to mitigate them.
- Providing Training and Education: The coordinator is responsible for training plant personnel and, in some cases, the public, on emergency procedures, protective actions, and other relevant information.
- Managing Resources: The coordinator oversees the resources needed for emergency preparedness, including equipment, facilities, and personnel.
- Specific areas of focus might include Evacuation planning:
- Developing and coordinating evacuation procedures for communities within a certain radius of the plant.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills
- Organizational and planning skills
- Knowledge of Regulations
