As an Engineering Geologist you will have the opportunity to:
- Serve as project manager to oversee all aspects of investigation and cleanup related to assigned hazardous waste/substance sites
- Apply knowledge of recognized environmental conditions, geology, subsurface investigations, underground transport processes of contaminants, and hydrogeology
- Investigate the sequence, structure, and relationships of geological materials as they affect the fate and transport of environmental pollutants
- Evaluate or conduct investigations for the purpose of selecting and designing measures to remediate contaminated soil, water, or air
- Evaluate hydrologic, geologic and geochemical data to characterize the occurrence and migration of contaminants
- Prepare cross-sections, maps, charts, and graphs illustrating such relationships
- Project management experience
- Environmental Geology, remediation and site characterization training or experience
- Possession of or desire to possess a Professional Geologist (PG) License
- Field experiences drilling, conducting investigations or overseeing construction
- Experience reading and developing environmental reports, design plans, specifications and risk assessments
- Experience interpreting water quality or environmental laws, rules, and regulations
- Experience with state contracts and agreements
- Experience interacting with public, local, federal and state agencies
- Knowledge and or training in the use of geodatabases and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Experience conducting site visits and inspections
