Engineering and Design Internship:
The intern will be responsible for identifying problems and designing and fabricating solutions for various projects over the duration of the internship. Skills required are problem solving abilities, design experience in Fusion 360 or SolidWorks, and Arduino coding knowledge.
Specific job duties include:
- Calibrate and maintain several 3d printers and CNC mills on site.
- Create a detailed maintenance plan for each machine on site.
- Write a standard operating procedure (SOP) for machine operation on site.
- Create technical drawings and designs of prototype components
- Fabricate prototype components using additive and subtractive manufacturing.
- Select, order, code, and assemble the electronic components to integrate with the printed parts.
- Assemble prototypes and evaluate functionality, making any necessary changes in a future iteration.
- Write a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the end user that will be delivered alongside the final prototype.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student currently pursuing an accredited engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, robotics mechatronics or related engineering field
- Due to the nature of this position U.S. Citizenship is required
