Alutiiq Information Management, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for an Engineering Technician I in Perryville, MD. The Engineering Technician will support the development, design, installation and fielding of Communications and Sensor Systems for usage in Naval Vessel Sink Exercises (SINKEX) for Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC) Pacific and associated US Navy Commands.
- Aid Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) personnel with installation of high-speed data acquisition system configurations, telemetry Starlink communication equipment configurations, data recording specifics, and implementation of systems/data nodes to record explosive data test events onboard ships.
- Perform review of parts lists, inventory and receipt of components, staging/delivery and fabrication of assemblies and components required to install systems onboard ships for test events. Aid in technical documentation for system drawing redline, parts updated to material lists to support system installations. Perform equipment installation and de-installation to implement an improved system layout for shock testing of materials and equipment.
- Engage with SME personnel to provide critical input to test plans for various weapons effects stakeholders. Aid in performance of tests in accordance with the developed test plan to validate the efficacy of successful candidates for material performance testing. Common test locations include Pacific Missile Range Facility, HI; Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD; Dahlgren, VA; and other locations as required.
- Review test plans, procedures, drawings, schematics, and schedules of U.S. Navy testing for various projects. Provide support to SME personnel for field investigations to find, observe, and investigate root cause analysis for identified material testing preparation and planning as needed with regards to field and at-sea testing events.
Payrate: $30.00 to $35.00 Hourly
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Two (2) years of specific experience with electronics component/system fabrication and repair.
- Experience in SHIPALT environment highly desired. Ability to construct systems in accordance with Installation Design Plans (IDP) and Ship Installation Drawings (SID).
- Build, assemble and test RF cables, power and control cables; be able to solder and assemble PCB boards in accordance with schematics.
- Proof of supporting technical schools, whether military or civilian highly desired.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain or reestablish this level of clearance
- Current US Passport required
