- The emphasis of this role will be metal fab – laser cutting, robot welders, & tube bending. Ability to program and troubleshoot. This role will need to be able to learn and backup in Wood as well.
- Knowledge of Mig/Tig Welding, Robot welders, brazing, grinding, tube benders, and fabrication equipment, with the ability to operate or learn to operate.
SUMMARY
The Engineering Technician is responsible for programming, training, fixture evaluation, and process quality of the value stream. In addition, they will support the day to day needs of the department through the Management Development System.

- Ensure cycle times meet costed targets.
- Ensure quality of the parts coming off value stream meet our quality standards
- Train operators on proper operation and upkeep of the equipment and area
- Contribute to the creation of work instructions for various production and testing processes.
- Work with Tooling Designers and Technicians to ensure tooling and fixtures are maintained and meet the expectations required to meet quality and production demands.
- Participate, train, and complete preventive maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean activities.
- Ability to operate all essential equipment.
- Support operation teammates to develop a culture of continuous improvement by leading the system to capture and execute improvement projects through implementation of process controls.
- Perform root cause analysis to determine the source of nonconformances and support the operation teams and associates on implementations of corrective action.
- Works safely and follows all safety rules and regulations.
- Keeps area neat, clean, and organized according to company’s 5s standards.
- Supports daily business operations by remaining flexible to the changing needs of the business
- Is instrumental in supporting the Management Development System (MDS) and the needs of the department highlighted through this process
