We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Manager to oversee the planning and execution of various events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in event management, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. This role requires excellent communication abilities, negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure every event runs smoothly and meets client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events from conception to completion while managing all project phases.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and adhered to.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and suppliers to secure the best rates and services.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote events through various channels, enhancing visibility and attendance.
- Upsell additional services or packages to clients to maximize event potential.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the planning process and during events.
- Coordinate catering services, ensuring menu selections align with client preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Manage logistics including venue setup, audio/visual requirements, transportation, and guest accommodations.
- Oversee on-site event execution, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and efficiently.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning or management within hospitality or related fields such as hotels or restaurants.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor management.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Experience in budgeting for events with a focus on cost control without compromising quality.
- Familiarity with fundraising activities is a plus for non-profit events.
- Background in banquet service or guest services is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in time management to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
