Corpus Christi FC is a professional soccer organization affiliated with the United Soccer League (USL). The USL Championship and USL League One make up the largest professional men’s soccer league in the United States. Corpus Christi FC is based out of South Texas, an untapped soccer hotbed of Texas with thousands of youth players and many thousands more supporting the game at all levels. Corpus Christi FC in partnership with Next Sports Company LLC is developing a 5,000-seat soccer specific-stadium as part of a world class multi-sports facility that will be ready by Summer 2025 for its inaugural season as a professional team in March 2026
JOB SUMMARY:
The Event Marketing and Communications Intern will assist with marketing and communications efforts towards promoting our new professional soccer team. This position supports the team in executing public relations and promotional campaigns, with the goal of driving attendance and delivering a world-class experience for guests and clients. Ideal candidates are highly organized, technically proficient, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Support the development and execution of communications strategies
- Facilitate media coverage for events and serve as on-site media contact when needed
- Assist with planning and implementing promotional and marketing initiatives for special and tour-related events
- Manage marketing project timelines, assign tasks, and track progress from start to completion
- Support social media efforts across venue and event accounts
- Build and maintain an up-to-date media contact database
- Coordinate communication between departments to ensure efficient workflow
- Oversee ordering and inventory of branded merchandise and marketing materials
- Assist in creating, editing, and managing digital content in line with brand standards
- Write and edit copy for various projects, including emails, web content, advertisements, and promotional materials
- Help maintain and update content across venue and event websites
- Prepare weekly job status updates for leadership
- Maintain regular in-person office hours, Monday through Friday
- Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and minor holidays as needed
- Attend select events to gather photo and video content Perform additional duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently in junior or senior year of college or recently graduated
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Background or education in Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
- Motivated self-starter with a proactive mindset
- Comfortable interacting with staff at all organizational levels
- Strong customer service orientation and networking skills
- Professional demeanor and work ethic
