Position Title: Executive Director
Reports to: Board of Directors Position
Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operations and development of Family Resource Center of Iowa County.
The Executive Director works with the Board and our Family Program Coordinator to ensure the achievement of Family Resource Center’s mission, programs and events. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
● Become familiar with Family Resource Center best practices and ensure the agency follows them.
● Attend Thriving Wisconsin Director’s meetings, advocacy meetings, marketing and all other relevant meetings.
● Engage in grant writing and reporting, other activities such as presentations and attending meetings related to grants and contracts. Ensure dedicated funding to support a parent or family advisory council.
● Fundraising.
● Work with the Treasurer to create and maintain FRC’s budget.
● Participate and help with programming and events.
● Provide leadership for moving toward and maintaining Quality of FRC Accreditation: assume necessary training and create a plan/action steps for FRC based on National Standards of Quality.
● Manage policies and procedures for keeping FRC in good standing (DFI, insurance policies, lease, etc).
● Implement a data collection process for FRC and ensure reporting has been completed.
● Plan and attend board meetings. Confirm continuing and potential new board members.
● Serve as administrator on Facebook to help with marketing and maintaining social media.
● Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Non-profit or program administration, strategic planning, community development, fiscal management and staff supervision experience.
● Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
● Strong written and oral communication skills.
● Excellent coalition building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to achieve the mission, vision and values of the FRC.
● Ability to use computer programs including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, and email. Preferred Qualifications:
● Knowledge of early childhood development and commitment to quality early care and education.
