Job Summary
The Lucas County Family and Children First Council (LCFC) is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven leader to serve as its Executive Director. This position offers the opportunity to guide and inspire collaborative efforts to improve the lives of children, youth, and families in Lucas County. As the Executive Director, you will provide strategic leadership, oversight of operations, and build partnerships with policymakers, community leaders, and service providers.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and visionary leader, skilled in project management, fiscal oversight, public relations, and cross-system collaboration. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the LCFC, ensuring the implementation of strategic priorities and policies that promote positive outcomes for families in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
LCFC Administration & Governance:
- Lead the development and execution of the LCFC Shared Plan, gathering input from Council members, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Support the LCFC Executive Committee and Council with meeting facilitation, agenda development, and resolution tracking.
- Serve as a liaison to Ohio Family and Children First, ensuring compliance with state requirements.
- Coordinate recruitment, orientation, and development of council members to maintain diverse representation.
- Manage key projects and initiatives to promote interagency collaboration and improved outcomes for children and families.
Organizational Leadership & Fiscal Oversight:
- Develop policies and procedures to guide LCFC operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversee budgeting, grant fiscal compliance, and financial reporting in collaboration with the Fiscal Officer.
- Lead grant writing efforts to secure funding and renewals for LCFC operations and programs.
- Supervise a diverse leadership team, including Fiscal Officer, Office Manager, Associate Director of Early Childhood, and Program Managers.
Community Leadership & Engagement:
- Cultivate relationships with local, state, and federal partners to further the mission of LCFC.
- Represent the LCFC in public forums, media inquiries, and with elected officials.
- Engage with community leaders, providers, and parents to raise awareness and support for LCFC initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Mission-driven leadership with the ability to inspire and align diverse stakeholders.
- Strong strategic visioning and planning skills to shape long-term initiatives for child and family well-being.
- Facilitative leadership style, skilled at managing complex initiatives and fostering collaboration.
- Experience in fiscal management, including budgeting, grants, and financial oversight.
- Expertise in public relations, advocacy, and community engagement.
- Ability to navigate organizational change with diplomacy and adaptability.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Social Work, Public or Business Administration, or a related field with at least 3 years of progressive management experience in a human service agency; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public or Business Administration, or related field with 8 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a cross-system leadership role.
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional travel required, including overnight stays.
- Availability by phone during business hours and after hours.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
