Position Summary
The Executive Housekeeper oversees all housekeeping operations, ensuring cleanliness, efficiency, and adherence to brand standards. This leadership role manages staff, controls inventory, maintains quality assurance, and upholds our commitment to guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, schedule, inspect rooms and supervise housekeeping staff (room attendants, laundry, public areas).
- Conduct daily briefings and performance reviews; foster a positive, productive work environment.
- Quality & Standards:
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with IHG brand standards.
- Implement deep-cleaning programs and preventive maintenance for guest rooms.
- Inventory & Budget Management:
- Manage linen/terry inventory, cleaning supplies, and amenities; minimize waste through cost controls.
- Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget; process invoices and track expenses.
- Guest Satisfaction:
- Address guest concerns related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
- Ensure rooms meet quality expectations prior to guest arrival.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain records (room inspections, deep cleans, preventive maintenance, lost and found, inventory logs, safety reports).
- Coordinate with maintenance for room repairs and with front office for room status updates.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in housekeeping supervision, preferably in a hotel setting (IHG experience a plus).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in housekeeping software (e.g., Opera PMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Attributes:
- Detail-oriented with high standards for cleanliness and efficiency.
- Ability to work flexibly (weekends/holidays) in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: High school diploma required; hospitality certification (e.g., AHLEI) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Comfortable using cleaning equipment and chemicals (with provided PPE).
