Job Summary
The Home Health Care Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of home health care services. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team to provide compassionate care to individuals in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of home health care services, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage and supervise caregiving staff, including training and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs, focusing on assisted living and memory care.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation and maintain patient records in EMR/EHR systems.
- Monitor patient health through vital signs assessment and medication administration.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and catheter care as needed.
- Uphold HIPAA standards to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and experience with EMR/EHR systems.
- Proficient in patient observation and assessment skills.
- Experience in senior care, home health, hospice care, long-term care, or nursing home settings.
- Familiarity with caregiving techniques for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
- Ability to perform CPR and manage emergency situations effectively.
- Experience using Hoyer lifts for patient mobility assistance.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients and families.
