Position Overview
The Facility Support person is responsible for maintaining lab cleanliness, escorting sub-contractors as needed and providing overall support to Nalas Engineering. If you have expertise and knowledge working with Laboratory Equipment (e.g. analytical, pumps, reactors, chillers) in either field services or a scientific capacity, and have a passion for excellence and learning new technologies, we have a career opportunity at Nalas.
Qualifications Qualified Facility Support person should be a high school graduate with at least 2 years’ experience working in a professional facility. Able to work a 40-hour week minimum with possible weekends.

- Able to answer phones and direct calls using telephone and intercom system

- Must be proficient with the use of management software to track service, manage inventories, and complete job tasks

- In-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment.

- Previous Experience in a chemical environment strongly preferred
Primary responsibilities:
Diagnostic, troubleshooting, installation & qualifications, training, repair, preventative maintenance and calibrations
Communicate with internal customers and external vendors as needed to troubleshoot, diagnose and provide repair updates
Prepare and maintain internal Preventative Maintenance Plans for all equipment
Prepare and maintain internal Calibration Plans for all equipment
Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for equipment
In-depth operation and testing of various type of Lab Equipment.
Repairing and troubleshooting of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical equipment.
Conducting inspections of incoming new equipment: testing, diagnostic reporting, repairing (if needed) and photo documenting for inventory and listing purposes.
Installing and troubleshooting equipment software.
Working and coordinating with external laboratory equipment technicians.
Troubleshooting technical problems with customers and potential clients.
Demonstrated proficiency in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Coordinate problem resolution with internal customer, vendor customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs
- Maintain lab cleanliness to include; cleaning of floors, wiping down surfaces and trash removal
- Escorting contractors as needed throughout the facility
- Providing support to the management team as needed
- Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facility areas as needed
- Assists with departmental and employee moves; hanging pictures, shelving and furniture
- Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain a clean facility
- Performs other job duties as needed
