Director of Maintenance
Forest Hills of DC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Maintenance to lead and oversee all plant operations and maintenance functions. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the facility’s physical structures, HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, utilities, and grounds are maintained in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
Duties:
- Plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate maintenance activities across the facility.
- Oversee hiring, training, performance evaluation, and discipline of maintenance staff.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, goals, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Manage repair, replacement, and ordering of equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Maintain budgets and monitor expenditures for personnel, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including fire prevention and age-specific safety precautions.
- Collaborate closely with administration and other departments to prioritize and schedule maintenance work.
- Supervise grounds care and maintain a neat and safe environment for all residents and staff.
- Coordinate the work of contractors and ensure adherence to contracts and codes.
- Prepare reports and maintain accuracy.
