About Von Waldberg Kennels:
Von Waldberg is a 9-acre German Shepherd breeding, boarding, and training facility located in Snohomish, WA. Our expansive property features several buildings, fields, short trails, a busy boarding operation, and a large dog training center. We take great pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for our dogs, staff, and clients.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated full-time Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance and repairs across our large property and buildings while also contributing to the daily care and well-being of our dogs. This is a 40-hour-per-week position with benefits and flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on facility structures, equipment, and grounds
- Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, lawn care equipment, and occasionally large farm implements such as tractors
- Conduct basic landscaping, mowing, weed control, and snow removal as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility
- Participate in some dog care duties including feeding, cleaning and sanitizing kennels, exercising dogs, and general animal care as needed
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and report repair needs to management
- Learn and follow all safety protocols and kennel policies
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with and ability to safely operate a wide variety of tools and equipment (training provided if required)
- Willingness to learn on the job and take on varied tasks
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical capability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects or animals weighing 80+ lbs., and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Previous experience working around animals, at animal care facilities, farms, or similar environments is strongly preferred
- Experience with basic plumbing, electrical work, or small-scale construction is a plus, but not required
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting pay: $22/hour, with opportunities for bonuses and tips
