Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information
- Prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Organize and maintain client files and case documents
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Attend court hearings and trials to provide support to attorneys
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word; experience in legal project management software
- Accurate data entry skills for maintaining case information
- Ability to draft legal documents
- Familiarity with legal drafting techniques and terminology as well as Utah family law case law and statutes
- Excellent phone etiquette and written communication
- Familiarity with legal research databases
Note: Prior experience as a Family Law Paralegal is required. Candidates must have a solid understanding of family law procedures and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism are essential in this role.
