FINANCIAL COMPTROLLER

DEFINITION

This position supports the effective and efficient delivery of financial services across all district departments including the administration of and compliance with all related district policies and state and federal laws, as well as short and long range financial planning. This role reports directly to the CFO and supervises the accounts payable and finance positions.

The comptroller will be responsible for establishing processes, planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of the District’s finance functions. This includes, but is not limited to, collaborating with the CFO and other executive leadership to establish finance processes and procedures, attending leadership meetings and presenting on finance-related topics.

This position performs advanced level accounting functions specific to the District’s financial operations with an emphasis on general ledger accounting and financial reporting. This position plays a major role in the production of district interim and audited financial statements. This role includes budget to actual analysis, recording transactions pertaining to day-to-day activities for the District, grant tracking and accounting, analysis and reconciliations of balance sheet and bank accounts for the District, and ensures accurate recording of transactions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direct supervision from the Chief Financial Officer.

SALARY RANGE AND DAYS WORKED

Salary range: $103,668.96 - $128,416.88 depending on experienceEmployee Status: ExemptWork schedule: M - F, 8+ hours/day

Days worked: 252 days/year (with paid personal time, paid vacation days, and paid time off for holidays and district non-work days such as during winter break and spring breaks)
