Financial Controller

Elevate Search is partnering with a growing, fast-paced organisation to recruit a Financial Controller into a key permanent role within its finance leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across multiple operating businesses, while acting as a key Finance Business Partner to operational Managing Directors.

This is a broad, hands-on role combining strong financial control and reporting with team leadership, process improvement and commercial business partnering.

Key

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Support statutory accounts, audit, tax, VAT and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, develop and mentor finance team members across multiple locations.
• Partner with Managing Directors and operational stakeholders, providing financial insight and challenge.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, processes and reporting.
• Drive greater automation and standardisation across the finance function.
• Support the Group Finance Director with ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.

About You:

We are looking for a qualified or newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with experience gained within financial control, finance management or a similar senior finance position.

You will combine strong technical accounting skills with a practical, hands-on and commercially minded approach.

You'll also need the confidence and communication skills to build strong relationships with senior non-finance stakeholders and translate financial information into meaningful commercial insight.

Experience within a multi-entity, group, project-led or fast-growth environment would be particularly useful, as would previous involvement in finance process improvement or transformation.

Strong Excel and finance systems capability is required, while exposure to reporting automation or the use of AI within finance would be advantageous.

This could be an excellent opportunity for an existing Financial Controller or an ambitious Finance Manager looking to step into their first Financial Controller position.
