Fire & Gas Technician
We are seeking an experienced Fire and Gas Technician to join our field services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the inspection, installation, maintenance, and calibration of fire and gas detection systems in industrial environments. This role plays a vital part in ensuring personnel and asset safety in high-risk facilities such as oil & gas production sites and plants.

What you will Do: • Install, test, calibrate and maintain fire and gas detection devices, including flame detectors, gas sensors, smoke detectors, heat detectors and control panels. • Perform routine inspections and function checks on F&G systems in accordance with industry and site-specific standards. • Troubleshoot and repair system faults, wiring issues, sensor drift, and communication errors. • Complete system commissioning tasks, including loop checks, device configuration, and integration with DCS/SCADA systems. • Maintain accurate documentation and service records for audits and compliance. • Work closely with HSE teams to ensure all safety protocols are followed during field activities. • Support emergency shutdown systems (ESD), fire suppression systems, and emergency alarm testing as required. • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and permit-to-work processes.
Your Skills and Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience as a Fire and Gas Technician or similar instrumentation role in industrial environments. • Strong knowledge of F&G equipment from manufacturers such as Det-Tronics, General Monitors, Honeywell, MSA, or Draeger. • Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe installations. • Valid safety certifications (H2S Alive, Confined Space, Fall Protection, etc.) are considered an asset. • Journeyman Instrumentation Technician or Electrician certification preferred. • Strong understanding of P&IDs, loop drawings, and control schematics. • Comfortable working in remote field locations. • Excellent problem-solving skills and a safety-first mindset.
